FOREST  PARK  CULTURAL  INSTITUTIONS

For more than 125 years, Forest Park has been St. Louis' crown-jewel and premier destination. In recent years more than $90 million has been spent to restore Park facilities and infrastructure.  For more information on the restoration process and Forest Park visit www.forestparkforever.org.

The MISSOURI HISTORY MUSEUM'S
collections include artifacts and decorative items from St. Louis' colonial days, objects representative of the Plains Indian cultures, and many items connected with Charles Lindbergh's trans-Atlantic "Spirit of St. Louis" flight.

ST. LOUIS SCIENCE CENTER
offers hours of fun and learning at its Planetarium in Forest Park, which is surrounded by a Dinosaur Park and hands-on outdoor exhibits. Located only four blocks west of Cheshire in Oak Knoll Park, the Center also houses the OMNIMAX Theater.

SAINT LOUIS ART MUSEUM
occupies one of the few remaining structures from the 1904 World's Fair. The Museum has an extensive collection of old masters, modern American works and a great many traveling art shows of special interest.

THE MUNY (The Municipal Theatre)
is open during the summer months and has offered musical theater in an outdoor setting since 1919. Performing current and past musical hits from Broadway, the Muny is a national tradition.

As home to more than 3,600 animals, many of them endangered species, the SAINT LOUIS ZOO was recently voted one of the top zoos in the country. Its Living World facility houses highly acclaimed, interactive exhibits of the biological world; a newly redesigned and expanded Emerson Electric Children's Zoo features face-to-face encounters with animals and an activity area.

The newly restored JEWEL BOX has enchanted visitors since 1936. This art deco-style conservatory has been widely hailed for its radical engineering and its design quality. The building is surrounded by rose gardens, lily ponds, statuary and monuments, and seasonal floral displays.

Forest Park is a stone’s throw away from the hotel should you decide to walk to some of the attractions. However, being the world’s third largest park, may we suggest you take our van?
The Cheshire van holds 12 and runs 7 days a week from 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. Inquire at the front desk.
